Zynga Bids for a Share in the Real Money Market

Zynga, the social gaming group that is hugely popular on Facebook, provides players on the social networking site with games such as Farmville and Zynga Poker. So successful is Zynga that now it is seeking to enter the world of online gambling for real money. Therefore, it is looking to collaborate with an established casino or gaming group and thereby increase the odds of getting a first class operator’s license, either on a federal or intrastate level.
Based in San Francisco, Zynga said in a statement that it was looking at options to enable it to enter the online gaming market, including a partnership with another company. “We know from listening to our players that there’s an interest in the real money gambling market,” the statement said. “We’re in active conversations with potential partners to better understand and explore this new opportunity.”
Zynga is making this move after the US Department of Justice recently declared that by regulating their own online poker industries individual states were not breaking any federal laws.
As the biggest and most popular online poker game to date, over seven million Facebook members play on Zynga Poker for virtual money. This gives the site a remarkable and envious advantage and brand awareness, and any partner fortunate enough to join with Zynga is sure to be part of a vast and very rewarding project. Although there are no cash winnings with Zynga now, players use virtual money to buy chips and can build huge bankrolls by competing with other players in a variety of games and tournaments.
