History

Empire Poker was initially launched as an affiliate of PartyPoker, giving it access to the PartyPoker Network whilst allowing it to run independently as a business.

In 2006 after many years of good performance, Empire Poker was bought by PartyGaming in order to increase its presence and attract more customers.  Since then, Empire Poker has been steadily growing in the online poker world, thanks to its well-earned reputation and increased backing.

Reputation

Empire Poker has earned a strong reputation in the online poker industry, attracting a large player base of its own thanks to good customer service and support. Although the site used to have a reputation for low rewards, since it was taken over by PartyPoker Empire Poker has begun offering far better bonuses to its players, along with a wide range of freerolls and opportunities to acquire seats in major tournaments.

Software and Graphics

Thanks to their association with PartyPoker, Empire Poker uses a variation of PartyPoker’s hugely popular online poker software. This software has been downloaded more than 30 million times and is well-known for its ease of use, and stability. Although the software Empire Poker employs is behind that of some of their rivals in terms of graphics, but the low demand this software puts on a computer means that you can easily multi-table without running the risk of high graphical demands hampering performance and causing you to potentially miss key hands.

While playing at Empire Poker you’ll be immersed in a basic 3D rendering of a live poker table with fixed avatars at each seat. When you’re at a table, you’ll also have the option to play Blackjack and Roulette mini-games in order to pass the time waiting for the right hand.

The software allows you to easily find tables too. You can choose a table either by manually selecting one from a well-ordered list of available games or by searching based on criteria such as stakes, variety of poker and what kind of game. After searching, players can chose whether they want to be automatically seated at a table or be shown a list of suitable games.

Poker Game Varieties

Empire Poker offers a full range of poker games to players, such as the market-leading No Limit Texas Hold’em and incredibly popular Pot Limit Omaha\Omaha Hi-Lo. Along with these standard games players can also enjoy Limit and Pot Limit Texas Hold’em, No Limit Omaha\Omaha Hi-Lo and Seven Card Stud. All of these poker games can be played in either practice play, in ring games, in SNG tournaments or as a part of Empire Poker’s regular tournament schedule.

Sign-up Bonus and Reward Scheme

Unlike most poker sites Empire Poker tends to offer a flat rate for bonuses, giving players set amounts after reaching a deposit criteria. However, players are also able to tie their Poker account to their online casino account with Empire and this can unlock more bonuses. Once signed up, players are able to compete for seats in tournaments as parts of promotions, take part in big money freerolls and enjoy cut-price high-stakes SNG games.
